High Peak Autism and Asperger's Support Group Frequently Asked Questions.
On this page we shall attempt to answer some of questions you may (or indeed, may not) have.
Q: How do I become a member of the group?
A: Just turn up at one of the meetings, see the relevant page for details.
Q: I am not in the High Peak area and am looking for a support group in my own area, can you help?
A: We have a list of national groups on the site, if your area is not listed please contact us and we shall attempt to be of assistance.
Q: Are there any social events planned for the group?
A: Actually, we would class going to the meetings as 'social'. Otherwise, if you want to socialise ....go to the pub. This is an Asperger group, not a dating agency.
Q: I am in need of support for myself / child, can you help?
A: Possibly, turn up at one of the meetings or send us an email with the details.
Q: Is there a minimum age limit for members?
A: As the meetings are when kids should be at school, then we are looking at 16+. Parents who are unable to attend the meetings who have young children, please contact us for information you may require, where we will do what we can to assist you with contact information and services available.
Q: How do I get more information about Asperger's Syndrome?
A: The book by Tony Attwood - 'The Complete Guide to Asperger's Syndrome' - see Media page.
There is also plenty of information on the 'About Asperger's' page.
Q: What do I get out of going to the meetings?
A: Advice, meeting like-minded people, information, support, coming soon will be a lending library, free tea, coffee and biscuits.....
Q: Where do I go to get the flyers, I want to distribute some for you?
A: You may access the flyer via the link below:HERE
